In order to raise funds to support conservation efforts in the community, the QCCA owns and operates the QCCA Expo Center.
The 60,000 square foot exhibition hall is used by the QCCA to host five major events of their own and is rented out for other consumer trade shows and special events when not in use by the QCCA. Events hosted by the QCCA include Quad City Bald Eagle Days, the RV & Camping Show, the Fishing, Hunting & Outdoor Adventure Show, a Flower & Garden Show and Brewed Live.
Annual attendance at the facility, which includes a 4,600 square foot auditorium with a seating capacity for 500, a large outdoor parking area, public indoor restrooms and two concession areas, is nearly 1,000,000 people.
What makes the QCCA Expo Center unique is the fact that nearly the entire facility is run by roughly 200 volunteers from the five clubs in the alliance. These volunteers cover a variety of duties from parking cars to serving food and from cleaning restrooms to selling tickets. Even the board of directors that ensures day-to-day operations of the facility, is made up of a group of very dedicated volunteers.
Because the facility has such support from its club members, the QCCA has been able to contribute more than $2,000,000 to conservation activities since 1984. These efforts have helped support the QCCA's mission to protect, preserve and enhance the natural resources and the quality of life within a 90-mile radius of the Quad Cities.
